Books Are Fun sold to Imagine Nation Books
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You may have heard that Books Are Fun was sold to Imagine Nation
Books. The fascinating thing is that Reader's Digest sold the rights to
BAF for $17.5 million while they had originally bought BAF for about $300
million. That means my friend Earl Kaplin made a ton of money in the
exchange since as owner of Imagine Nation Books, he now owns his
former company.
With the purchase of BAF, Imagine Nation Books is now in need of even
more product. Again, you can send a sample copy to Tim McCormick,
Senior Buyer, Imagine Nation Books, P O Box 27672, Tempe AZ 85285.
Be sure to include your email address so they can respond more quickly
to you on their decision.
Book Marketing 101
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What is the first rule for marketing books? It is this simple rule: repeat,
repeat, repeat. Repetitive exposure before your core audience is the
key to selling books. You have to continually be in front of your core
audience on a regular basis. That's one reason for this free newsletter.
That is also why I've been repeatedly featuring my Ten Million Eyeballs
online event in this newsletter. 1. Because then when you are ready,
you can easily sign up. 2. Because Ten Million Eyeballs is all about
getting on-going multiple exposure on the Internet to your core
audience. In this seminar, I'll be teaching you four inexpensive but
effective ways to get millions of online impressions before your core
audience. Check it out at http://www.tenmillioneyeballs.com.
Marketing your book through social media
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you've been thinking of marketing your books using social media such
as blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, etc., check out this blog post:
http://www.atlantaclickadvisor.com/2008/10/marketing-social-media.
It's a good post on the basics of social marketing.
Personally, I have pages on most of these social media websites and
also write several blogs, but I find them primarily a waste of time in
promoting books. Too time-consuming. That's why they're just a really
small option in what I'm teaching in my Ten Million Eyeballs course.
In that course, I focus on the quick, easy, fast, effective, cheap ways
to market your books, products, and services online.
If you're interested in pay per click advertising, you can read more of
Eric Werner's blog at http://www.atlantaclickadvisor.com.
