Book Marketing Blast-Off Seminar
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, the votes are in: Denver, Colorado came in first. San Antonio, Texas came in second. And Nashville, Tennessee came in third.
I'm going to start by doing a double seminar in Denver, Colorado. I'll be doing a two-day Book Marketing Blast-Off Seminar on Thursday and Friday, July 30 to 31. And then I'm going to follow that up with a two-day Ten Million Eyeballs seminar on Saturday and Sunday, August 1 to 2.
You can take the Book Marketing Blast-Off Seminar or the Ten Million Eyeballs online marketing seminar or both seminars. The price for one seminar will be $397. The price for both seminars will be $697.
Book Marketing Blast-Off Seminar: Thursday and Friday, July 30 to 31
You can read about the Book Marketing Blast-Off seminar at:
http://www.bookmarket.com/blastoff.htm
Ten Million Eyeballs Seminar: Saturday and Sunday,  August 1 to 2
You can read all about the Ten Million Eyeballs online marketing seminar at http://www.TenMillionEyeballs.com
Set aside these dates. When I return from California in ten days, I'll post a link so you can sign up for either or both seminars. Meanwhile, set aside the dates so you'll have time to take one or both seminars.
Note: I'll set up additional seminars in other parts of the country in early autumn. Watch this newsletter for those dates and places.
Promoting a novel with a flash video game
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Margins Press is promoting a novel by Frank de Sales (Devil's Island) by using a flash video game. It's an interesting attempt. I'll be interested to see the long-term sales that come out of the game. One thing I know is that the game can't be promoted just on the publisher's website. It has to be featured on high-traffic websites around the world.

Check out the game at http://www.weblistings.co.za/devils_island

He's shipped about 200 books since putting the game up for view.

Self-Publishers and Booksellers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's a good short article on how self-publishers should approach indie
booksellers (as written by the owner of an independent bookstore).
Getting sponsors for your book
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What would you do if you could do the following in less than 18 months?

-- Get a major PR firm to represent you and get you booked on ABC
World News, National Public Radio, 63 major radio stations, and more.

-- Get companies like Coca-Cola, Yahoo, Toyota, Sony Pictures and
others to buy 50,000 copies of your self-published book every year.

-- Find a publisher who'll pay you $500,000 to publish your next book.

-- Get corporations and non-profit groups to send out emails to
thousands and thousands of their key customers promoting your book.

None of the above is pie in the sky. Brendon Burchard did just that.
And he's going to tell you how he did it during a free teleseminar on
Thursday, June 18th.

Check it out at http://www.SponsorshipTrainingTeleseminar.com/?10005

-- He'll show you a step-by-step guide to getting a major company to
sponsor your promotional tour and pay for everything.

-- He'll tell you about a website you can use to find potential sponsors
and promotional partners.

-- He'll reveal the secret phrase that gets big nonprofit corporations to
endorse your book and promote it to their members.

-- He'll also tell you the title of the best person to contact to get a good
response.

-- And I'm really curious about this one: He'll tell you why you should never
send a sponsorship proposal to a Fortune 500 company that is created
using Microsoft Word? Weird, yes? I'm curious.

-- Finally, he'll tell you about the #1 mistake you could make that would
put the kabosh on any sponsorship deal with a Fortune 500 company.
