John Kremer's Recommended Resources for Writing & Selling Manuscripts

Here are resources to help you do almost anything you would want to do to market your books as an author or publisher. These resources are provided by me, by other good companies and individuals, or by websites.

How to Write a Book, eBook, or
Other Information Product

Blog to Book Project: How to Use a Blog to Create a Book in 90 Days or Less — This self-paced self-study program was created by The Blog Squad to help you get a book written fast and start marketing it as you write it. Provides all the ins and outs about blogging, including key tips to publishing an effective blog. Also includes promotion of your blog to The Blog Squad network. Cost: $297. You can, of course, also sign up for their ProBlogger program that includes their help in setting up a blog and making it work. That costs a lot more, but if you need hand holding to get it done, they can help.

Create and Publish Your Book Now — Discover how to create, write, produce, publish and promote your own book to bestseller status in 90 days or less with this program from Elsom Eldridge and Mark Hendricks. Cost: $197 if you click on the link or image above (that saves you $100).

Info Products Seminar — If you've been slow on creating new products, let Fred Gleeck, the product guru, show how you to create multiple products to sell via a funnel system to anyone — not only how to create such products, but also how to market and deliver them. Fred is one smart fellow.

InstantTeleseminar.com — This service allows you to create and host unlimited teleseminars (limited only by your time!). As many as 300 people can listen in via the phone while another 2,000 can listen in via the web. Anytime, day or night. Whenever you set up a teleseminar. You can also host and record interviews with anyone using this service. All recordings are hosted indefinitely with the service or can be downloaded so you can sell them as mp3s or audio CDs. All this for only $47 per month. I really don't know how they do it for that low price, but I'm not complaining.

Master Quiz — Something like the Master Survey program listed below, but this allows you to do some interactive and puzzle quizzes that you cannot do with Master Survey. Includes everything that Master Survey as plus the interactive features. You can create new quizzes in just a few minutes and put it up on your website right away. Get feedback in hours or days on what works and what doesn't. Learn from your potential customers what they want to see in your book. You can even use quizzes to help write your book by creating content, asking for stories, and getting feedback. Cost: $99.

Master Survey — Find out what your customers want by asking them. Then create the products they want to buy. When you ask your website visitors what they want, you open the door to more sales, happier customers, and a stronger site. You can now interact with your customers via surveys. You can customize the questions you ask, the look and feel of your survey, and how the results are reported (direct to you only or to anyone who visits your website). This is really cool stuff. All for only a one-time fee of $39.

Using Teleseminars to Create and Market Books — This teleseminar by John Kremer shows you how to use teleseminars to create new content, write new books, build important relationships, promote your books, and sell more books. In this seminar, I revealed a secret tip on how to begin creating relationships with top media and book buyers, even months or years before your book comes out. Write Any Book in Just 28 Days or Less — This course by Nick Daws teaches you how to create a book in 28 days or less, working less than one hour per day. That means fast. Novelists alert: This course is designed to help both the fiction author and the nonfiction author. Cost: $49.95.

Write Your eBook Or Other Short Book Fast — This ebook by Judy Cullins shows you how to write a book fast with minimal effort. Cost: $24.95.

How to Sell Your Manuscript

Book Proposals That Sell: 21 Secrets to Speed Your Success — This book by W. Terry Whalin provides everything you need to write a selling book proposal and get a publisher for your manuscript. Combined with the literary agent report directly below, you have everything you need to sell the next great American novel or any good nonfiction book. $39.

Everything You Need to Know to Become a Best-Selling Author — This 10-CD and guidebook program by Scott Jeffrey and Dr. X feature interviews with an anonymous publishing giant on how to craft a winning book proposal, land a publishing contract, navigate the publishing process, get publicity, market your book, and create a results-oriented author website. Cost: $195.

Literary, Subsidiary, & Foreign Rights Agents — If you want to contact the best literary agents for your novel or nonfiction book, this listing of more than 1,375 literary agents will allow you to target just the right agent for your book. This report also includes 375 agents that sell foreign rights and another 50 or so that handle subsidiary rights sales. Also includes a sample foreign rights contract. Only $30.

Millionaire Licensing Club — Copywriting legend Bob Serling and Internet marketer Mike Long teach you their TollGate method for selling products even when you don't have a website. Background: Create licensing deals with people who have product and connect them with people who have lists, members, website visitors, etc. Now, as an author, you might not want to broker other people's deals, but you certainly would want to know how to go about getting other people involved in selling your book, courses, etc. This course teaches you how to do that.

Proposal Secrets — This e-course by W. Terry Whalin is the MBA program for book authors looking to get a great book contract from a traditional publisher. Among other things, he answers the 50 most important questions authors have about writing book proposals, finding literary agents, and signing with a book publisher. The title isn't sexy enough to give you a true idea of how much Terry covers in this e-course. Someday I hope he comes up with a better title, or at least a good subtitle. Cost: $225.

Secrets of Proposals Teleseminar — This teleseminar features W. Terry Whalin and eight top editors and agents telling you all the secrets of why book proposals fail or succeed. When Terry first planned this teleseminar, he was really excited about talking to these important decision-makers. After completing the teleseminar, he was even more excited (if that was possible), because the quality of the teleseminar exceeded his (and my) expectations. Normally $99, Terry has allowed me to extend you a huge discount of $79 so the final cost is only $20.

Celebrity Causes Database — This online membership database from Jordan McAuley lists which celebrities contribute time and/or money to various causes. Spotlight Branding — This is a searchable online database featuring industry contacts for film, television and gaming to be used for product placement and branded entertainment opportunities. Nobody in the book world knows the power of product placement better than Matt Damon’s childhood neighbor. A single mention of his friend’s history book in Good Will Hunting has kept that book a consistent seller since the movie debuted. Cost: $549.


How to Design Your Book
or Other Product

Alive! eBooks Network — Wow, I just discovered this program and it is beautiful and enticing. It allows you to create and sell multimedia ebooks that feature text, audio, and video. They've already featured Dan Millman, Marc Allen, Carolyn Ellis, and others. You provide text, audio recordings, optional photos and other graphics, video (if you have some) and then they do the heavy lifting of creating the multimedia ebook plus the non-glamorous technical stuff for ebook security, hosting, and integration into your shopping cart. Cost: $2500 plus a cover design. Their covers are gorgeous and the books are involving, which means that your customer not only gets to read you but also hear and see you.
