This page features a list of services which provide on-demand production (printing
on demand) of books. Many of these companies can
print, bind, and ship one book at a time, although most are more efficient and cost-effective at doing 10 to 100 copies.
We try to be comprehensive in these listings, so we list anyone.
A listing does not
necessarily mean a
recommendation by us. — John Kremer,

New Zealand publisher: “20% commission for on-line sales allows small
operations to link to their sales screen for orders. But 40% to list on Amazon
is greedy. Their international postage rate is absurd ($25 to NZ) and we have
complained. They have no phone service, and their email replies are hopeless.
Proofing delays (up to 24 hours) are annoying. We bought a block of book titles
when they were offering the pro fee base for free. We use them for middle draft
books, meaning books we send to our focus groups. A proof copy 200 page Royal
B&W book cost $6.85 including shipping to a US Address whereas the same book
would have cost a total of $28 to be sent to New Zealand. Of that $3.25 was for
the book.”

“Without glitzy idealism or funky hopelessness, Kremer does a sound job of talking about marketing, telling
stories from his own and others' experiences. He knows his subject, imparting important information in a
fast-paced, very open way. Extremely good stuff here.” — The Book Reader

John Kremer's Self-Publishing Hall of Fame — This book features the stories of hundreds of
self-publishers who have gone on to great success. It also features tips from many of the hall of famers on how to
do what they did. I publish this book as an ebook because I’m continually adding new heroes to it. A great motivational
and educational tool! January 2008. 225-page ebook download. $20.00.
