Twitter tip helps author . . .
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is an email I received recently from a newsletter reader:
I thought you might be interested to know how one of your Twitter Tips
helped me. I receive your newsletter. The book I authored teaches
beginners how to host casual entertaining in their homes.
I used your tip to follow journalists on Twitter in my niche audience
(Food). I received a direct message from Bill Daley, Food & Wine Critic
of the Chicago Tribune. He just happened to be writing an article on Fall
Entertaining and received my follow. He asked me for content for the
article and I gave him some of my best tips. The article is featured
today in the Food Section of the Chicago Tribune and also features
Collin Cowie (party planner to the stars, Oprah's frequent guest).
iMinds: A neat idea
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
iMinds is a relatively new company that produces 8-minute audios that
offer short overviews of subjects such as the history of whale hunting
to creationism. They currently offer 72 MindTracks audiobooks for
downloading via iTunes and Audible.com. What a great idea! With
people's shorter attention span, short audios like YouTube videos make
a ton of sense.
If you are sitting around waiting to finish writing a 300-page book, why
not take a day or two to record a great 8-minute audiobook and sell it
on iTunes, Audible.com, etc.? If you don't want to market it yourself,
you could sell the rights to iMinds.
