Twitter Tools for Promotion

Add Twitter: http://www.addtwitter.com — A collection of animated Follow Me on Twitter buttons that you can use for free. Alexa rank: 2,096,890 on March 8th, 1,277,090 on March 13th; 1,157,595 on April 9th; 1,065,932 on April 29th.

Click to Tweet: http://www.clicktotweet.com — Allows you to create links that make it easy for people to retweet exactly what you want. Alexa rank: 1,215,832 on May 27th.

Please Retweet Me: http://www.pleaseRT.me — Post a tweet here and they will add a link asking people to retweet your post. Readers click on the link and your post is automatically place into their Twitter post box ready to be sent out. Alexa rank: 1.983,716 on March 13th; 512,736 on April 29th; 466,571 on May 27th.

ReTweet It: http://www.retweet.it — Members of this website retweet each others' tweets, thus spreading their tweets among a larger audience. Alexa rank: 2,295,771 on April 9th; 579,159 on April 29th.

The easiest way to get traffic to your site these days is to get retweeted on Twitter. If someone retweets your link it means he like it and his followers on Twitter will see it and probably like it too. The more RT you get the more traffic your site will receive. If you retweet other members links you earn credits which you can use to promote your own link.

Tweeterized: http://www.tweeterized.com — Allows you to create a dynamic Twitter signature image for use on forums, websites, blogs, etc. To my mind, this is the best of the graphical tweet presenters. Alexa rank: 1,579,994 on March 6th; 1,126,884 on April 29th.

TweetPaste: http://www.tweetpaste.net — Allows you to convert a specific tweet into an iframe object that you can embed in any website or blog. Alexa rank: 2,285,082 on March 13th.

Tweet Smarter: http://www.tweetsmarter.com — Allows you to include special graphic images and to include a retweet link that makes it easy for tweeple to retweet your post. Alexa rank: 680,525 on March 8th; 285,707 on April 9th; 225,215 on April 29th.

Tweet Snap: http://www.tweetsnap.com — Allows you to create a graphic that will always feature your last post. This is especially useful when some websites don't allow widgets to be displayed. Alexa rank: 1,408,386 on February 2nd, 828,458 on April 29th.

Tweetup Badges: http://www.tweetupbadges.com — Sells quality durable badges to help identify people at tweetups; durable so can be used for multiple tweetups. Alexa rank: 845,228 on April 29th.

TwitIMG: http://www.twitimg.com — Features your latest tweet as a graphic image you can embed into any blog or website. The service was non-functional on April 29th. Alexa rank: 1,109,264 on March 13th; 909,150 on April 9th; 788,355 on April 29th.

TwiTip Graphics: http://www.twitip.com/181-twitter-buttons-badges-widget-and-counters-to-help-you-find-followers — Features 181 free Twitter buttons, badges, widgets, and counters that you can use. Alexa rank: 279,101. Also features a post on How to Host Your Own Short URLs: http://www.twitip.com/how-to-host-your-own-short-urls.

TwitSig: http://www.twitsig.com — Allows you to display your current Twitter status as an image, or to freeze one tweet as an image. The website seemed nonfunctional on April 29th. Alexa rank: 475,200 on March 13th; 375,924 on April 9th; 328,324 on April 29th.

Twit This: http://www.twitthis.com — The TwitThis button provides an easy way for people to send Twitter messages about your blog post or website. When visitors to your website click on the TwitThis button or link, it takes the URL of the webpage and creates a shorter URL using TinyURL. Then visitors can send this shortened URL and a description of the web page to all of their friends on Twitter. They also provide a WordPress plugin for adding the TwitThis button to every post. Alexa rank: 48,137 in early February; 35,301 on April 9th' 31.664 on April 29th.

Twitter Ribbons: http://www.twitterribbons.com — This website allows users to create Follow Me on Twitter ribbons like the one at the top right of this page. Alexa rank: no data on February 2nd, 417,845 on February 12th. 308,251 on March 6th; 229,651 on April 9th; 337,961 on April 29th.

Twitter Split: http://www.twittersplit.com — Allows you to create a top frame around any link you post (so that when people click on the link in your tweet, they will be taken to the site you reference but there will be a top frame featuring your banner ad or an equivalent. Alexa rank: 348,622 on March 6th; 367,567 on April 29th.
