Why go for awards? Because they will help you sell books. As five-time RITA award-winning author Jo Beverley noted, “Whenever you win, it makes it easier to sell your work.” Similarly Leslie Wagner, senior editor at Silhouette, uses the designation ‘RITA Award-winning author’ on covers whenever she can because “It's one other piece that makes the books stand out in a crowded marketplace.”
